Stephen Batchelor:
The order doesn’t matter, according to Gautama you’ll have to nourish them all. https://suttacentral.net/an7.71/en/sujato?lang=en
- Perspective (diṭṭhi)
- Imagination (sankappa)
- Application (vāyāma)
- Mindfulness (sati) (I don’t think this is “Minfulness”, to me this is “Understanding”)
- Focus (samādhi) (Awareness)
- Voice (vācā) (important context: voice, not writing, was the way knowledge was shared.)
- Work (kammanta) (Effort?)
- Survival (ājīva) (Because our awareness arises necessarily as a tool of survival)
